Allow me to introduce myself – my name is Katalin ’PT’ Piros. Since I was a child, I have always had a passion for training and a love affair with nature. For me there is nothing better than being in nature: on a mountain top, swimming in the open ocean or skiing in a snow-covered forest.
I grew up on homemade Hungarian food which shaped my love of cooking & nutrition! When I was younger, I participated in many sports. My favorites were badminton, judo, swimming & triathlon. I have always thought that pushing my limits mentally and physically is the key to happiness. For example: after a challenge from a friend, I swam seven miles in the open ocean to raise money for charity during the summer of 2009.
I have a degree in international relations from Malmö Högskola with a minor in psychology from Trent University in Canada. After having studied and worked for over 12 years, I began to wonder if there was a better way to inspire other people. It seemed quite natural to invest in myself as a personal trainer, in order have the opportunity to daily be around people who want to challenge and develop themselves. In December 2013, I complemented my education and became a nutrition coach and internationally licensed personal trainer.
Personally, when it comes to training, in the past few years I have focused mainly on functional strength training and HIIT (high intensity interval training) . It has helped me to take great strides in maintaining form; I have built muscle mass and reduced my fat percentage. I have even trained Muay Thai which is great for discipline, reaction and explosiveness. However, for me there is no better way to relax and clear the mind than swimming!
When I am not at the The Gym, I love travelling to experience new cultures and cuisine. Last but not least, I have a passion for writing. Right now I’m working on the final details of my autobiography which is scheduled for release in summer 2015. For more info on that coming soon!
